A derivative-free root-finding algorithm using exponential method and its implementation

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2023
Objective In this paper, we develop a new root-finding algorithm to solve the given non-linear equations. The proposed root-finding algorithm is based on the exponential method. This algorithm is derivative-free and converges fast.

Solving Nonsmooth Equations Using Derivative-Free Methods [PDF]

open access: yesThe Bulletin of Society for Mathematical Services and Standards, 2012
In this paper, a family of derivative-free methods of cubic convergence for solving nonlinear equations is suggested. In the proposed methods, several linear combinations of divided differences are used in order to get a good estimation of the derivative of the given function at the different steps of the iteration.

Null structure in a system of quadratic derivative nonlinear Schr\"odinger equations

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the initial value problem for a three-component system of quadratic derivative nonlinear Schr\"odinger equations in two space dimensions with the masses satisfying the resonance relation.

An Optimal Eighth-Order Derivative-Free Family of Potra-Pták’s Method

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2015
In this paper, we present a new three-step derivative-free family based on Potra-Pták’s method for solving nonlinear equations numerically. In terms of computational cost, each member of the proposed family requires only four functional evaluations per ...

A class of new derivative-free gradient type methods for large-scale nonlinear systems of monotone equations

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In this paper, we present a class of new derivative-free gradient type methods for large-scale nonlinear systems of monotone equations. The methods combine the RMIL conjugate gradient method, the strategy of hyperplane projection and the derivative-free ...

Electromagnetic Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations in scale relativity

open access: yes, 2010
We present a new step in the foundation of quantum field theory with the tools of scale relativity. Previously, quantum motion equations (Schr\"odinger, Klein-Gordon, Dirac, Pauli) have been derived as geodesic equations written with a quantum-covariant ...

Revision of a Derivative-Free Quasi-Newton Method [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1978
A derivative-free Quasi-Newton (DFQN) method previously published [J. Greenstadt, Math. Comp., v. 26, 1972, pp. 145-166] has been revised and simplified. The main modification has the effect of keeping all the successive approximants to the Hessian matrix positive-definite.

A Modified Steffensen Iterative Method with Fourth-order Convergence

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2017
A new fourth-order convergent iterative method formed by Newton’s method and Steffensen method is presented to solve nonlinear equations in this paper. The new iteration formula uses derivative of quadratic interpolation as substitute for derivative of

A New Generalized Fractional-Order Derivative and Bifurcation Analysis of Cholera and Human Immunodeficiency Co-Infection Dynamic Transmission

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2022
In this study, the co-infection of HIV and cholera model has been developed and analyzed. The new fractional-order derivative is applied and the behavior of the solution is interpreted. The order of new generalized fractional-order derivative implication
