Convergence Analysis and Complex Geometry of an Efficient Derivative-Free Iterative Method
To locate a locally-unique solution of a nonlinear equation, the local convergence analysis of a derivative-free fifth order method is studied in Banach space.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Inertial-Based Derivative-Free Method for System of Monotone Nonlinear Equations and Application
Iterative methods for solving nonlinear problems are of great importance due to their appearance in various areas of applications. In this paper, based on the inertial effect, we propose two projection derivative-free iterative methods for solving system

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

An Efficient Class of Traub–Steffensen-Type Methods for Computing Multiple Zeros
Numerous higher-order methods with derivative evaluations are accessible in the literature for computing multiple zeros. However, higher-order methods without derivatives are very rare for multiple zeros.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

On Generalized Composite Fractional Derivative
In the present paper, we define a generalized composite fractional derivative and obtain results, which include the image of power function, Laplace transform and composition of Riemann-Liouville fractional integral with the generalized composite ...

Derivative-free HS-DY-type method for solving nonlinear equations and image restoration
A derivative-free conjugate gradient algorithm for solving nonlinear equations and image restoration is proposed. The conjugate gradient (CG) parameter of the proposed algorithm is a convex combination of Hestenes-Stiefel (HS) and Dai-Yuan (DY) type CG ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

An indicator for the switch from derivative-free to derivative-based optimization [PDF]
In some optimization problems found in applications, the derivatives of the objective function can be computed or approximated but at an expensive cost, and it is desirable to know when to use derivative-free methods (such as direct search, for instance)
