A context‐dependent modulatory role for eIF6 in acquired resistance to vemurafenib in melanoma

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Acquired resistance to vemurafenib upregulates the translation factor eIF6 in melanoma cells. Silencing eIF6 in resistant cells reduces proliferation and partially restores drug sensitivity, whereas its overexpression increases sensitivity across melanoma lines regardless of BRAF status, via modulation of mTOR, S6K, and MAPK signaling.

Attribute selection in descriptive sensory analysis

open access: yes, 2012
A seleção dos atributos a serem avaliados em uma análise sensorial é fundamental no planejamento de painéis sensoriais. O processo de seleção visa reduzir a lista de atributos a serem apresentados aos julgadores, evitando assim fadiga aos membros do ...

The ubiquitin system in normal and infected germinal center B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The ubiquitin system plays a central role in germinal center (GC) B cells, influencing differentiation to long‐lived memory B cells. Oncogenic gammaherpesviruses gain access to memory B cells by establishing latency in GC B cells. Mapping ubiquitin mechanisms in normal and infected GC B cells will define specific molecular circuits in B cells germane ...

Sensory Texture and Fundamental Rheology of Agar and Agarose Gels

open access: yes, 2006
Texture properties of foods are an important component of food quality perception and acceptability. In order to design specific textures with predictable sensory attributes, a molecular understanding of food structures and their corresponding texture is

Sensory Ethnography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Sensory ethnography offers an important intervention into the dominance of the conventional ‘watching and listening’ dynamic often presumed to be at the heart of ethnographic research.

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

SENSORY AND SEMANTIC LANGUAGE MODEL FOR RED APPLES

open access: yes, 2010
This study (1) examines the sensory attributes of a large group of red apples and compares consumer perceptions of them with those of a trained sensory panel; and (2) uses a sensory semantic frame classification to analyze the vocabulary used ...
