Optimization of gelatin nanofabrication as a potential biocompatible nanocarrier
Gelatin is a promising natural biomaterial used as a drug delivery system for various indications. It is a cheap, abundant and safe protein derived from collagen with proved biodegradation, biocompatibility and non-immunogenicity. According to its source,

Controlling desolvation through polymer-assisted grinding [PDF]
The ability to controllably desolvate a crystal-solvate system in a step-wise fashion through polymer-assisted grinding is demonstrated by varying the type and proportion of polymer agent used.

It is well known that the implementation of the conventional model-fitting (CMF) method leads to several indistinguishable ‘best’ candidate models (BCMs) for a single-step isothermal solid-state reaction (ISSR), meaning that subjective ...

Wet Chemical Synthesis of Non-solvated Rod-Like α'-AlH3 as a Hydrogen Storage Material
Aluminum hydride (AlH3) is a promising candidate for hydrogen storage due to its high hydrogen density of 10 wt%. Several polymorphs of AlH3 (e.g., α, β, and γ) have been successfully synthesized by wet chemical reaction of LiAlH4 and AlCl3 in ether ...

Desolvation Processes in Channel Solvates of Niclosamide
The antiparasitic drug niclosamide (NCL) is notable for its ability to crystallize in multiple 1:1 channel solvate forms, none of which are isostructural. Here, using a combination of time-resolved synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetry, the process-induced desolvation mechanisms of methanol and acetonitrile solvates are investigated.

Building solids inside nano-space: from confined amorphous through confined solvate to confined ‘metastable’ polymorph [PDF]
The nanocrystallisation of complex molecules inside mesoporous hosts and control over the resulting structure is a significant challenge. To date the largest organic molecule crystallised inside the nano-pores is a known pharmaceutical intermediate – ROY
