Binding of anandamide to bovine serum albumin [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2003
The endocannabinoid anandamide is of lipid nature and may thus bind to albumin in the vascular system, as do fatty acids. The knowledge of the free water-phase concentration of anandamide is essential for the investigations of its transfer from the binding protein to cellular membranes, because a water-phase shuttle of monomers mediates such transfers.

A DSC study of zinc binding to bovine serum albumin (BSA) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2007
The thermal denaturation of bovine serum albumin (BSA) is a kinetically and thermodynamically controlled process. The effects of zinc binding to bovine serum albumin (BSA), followed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), were investigated in this ...

The development and application of glyco-probes for bovine serum albumin

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Research, 2023
Two glyco-probes, GFP and GFN , which are derived from the condensation of 3-acetyl-5-C-(2,3-dihydroxy-1,4-anhydro-β- D -erythro-tetrofuranosyl)-2-methylfuran with benzaldehyde and 1-naphthaldehyde, respectively, are designed and synthesized.

Fetal bovine serum albumin inhibits antimicrobial peptide activity and binds drug only in complex with α1-antitrypsin

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Several antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have been developed for the treatment of infections caused by antibiotic-resistant microbes, but their applications are primarily limited to topical infections because in circulation they are bound and inhibited by ...

Conformational flexibility of fatty acid-free bovine serum albumin proteins enables superior antifouling coatings

open access: yesCommunications Materials, 2020
Bovine serum albumin proteins are used to fabricate antifouling coatings, but it is unclear which of these give the best coatings. Here, bovine serum albumin proteins from different purification processes are investigated, revealing that fatty acid-free ...
