Desolvation Processes in Channel Solvates of Niclosamide [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Pharmaceutics, 2023
The antiparasitic drug niclosamide (NCL) is notable for its ability to crystallize in multiple 1:1 channel solvate forms, none of which are isostructural. Here, using a combination of time-resolved synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetry, the process-induced desolvation mechanisms of methanol and acetonitrile solvates are investigated.

Kinetics of Desolvation-Mediated Protein–Protein Binding [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2000
The role of desolvation in protein binding kinetics is investigated using Brownian dynamics simulations in complexes in which the electrostatic interactions are relatively weak. We find that partial desolvation, modeled by a short-range atomic contact potential, is not only a major contributor to the binding free energy but also substantially increases

Toward Controlled Partial Desolvation of Guest Responsive Metal Organic Frameworks for Precise Porosity Control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Desolvation of guest responsive metal organic frameworks MOFs under dynamic vacuum often leads to the collapse of the pores, whereas supercritical CO2 SC CO2 drying is found to be the best alternative way to overcome the challenge of MOF desolvation.

Towards controlled partial desolvation of guest-responsive Metal-Organic Frameworks for precise porosity control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Desolvation of guest responsive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) under dynamic vacuum often leads to the collapse of the pores whereas supercritical CO2 (SC-CO2) drying was found to be the best alternative way to overcome the challenge of MOF desolvation.

Multistep desolvation as a fundamental principle governing peptide self-assembly through liquid‒liquid phase separation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Biomolecular self-assembly based on peptides and proteins is a general phenomenon encountered in natural and synthetic systems. Liquid‒liquid phase separation (LLPS) is intimately involved in biomolecular self-assembly, yet the key factors at a molecular

The DESolve ® Novolimus Bioresorbable Scaffold [PDF]

open access: yesFuture Cardiology, 2021
A longtime aspiration of interventional cardiologists remains to improve the long-term impact of stent permanence in coronaries to restore original vessel patency and physiological endothelium response. Bioresorbable vascular scaffolds were considered revolutionary in coronary devices, but several trials were disappointing; thus, the challenge in this ...
