Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

Adaptive Dynamic Thresholding Method for Fault Detection in Diesel Engine Lubrication Systems
Fault detection in marine diesel engine lubrication systems is crucial for ensuring the long-term stable operation of diesel engines and the safety of maritime navigation. Traditional fixed-parameter alarm threshold methods lack flexibility and are prone

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

In order to solve the problem that the traditional energy detection algorithm has poor detection performance due to the fixed decision threshold when the signal-to-noise ratio is low, this paper studies a dual-threshold cooperative energy detection ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.
