Solid-state NMR studies of absorption onto activated carbon [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This is a study of adsorption on three activated carbon substrates using solid- state NMR. The adsorbates used as probe molecules included a range of phosphates, phosphonates and deuterated water.

Oxygen annealing for deuterium doped indium tin oxide thin films

open access: yes, 2011
Deuterium-doped indium tin oxide films, fabricated by dc plasma deposition in sputter gas consisting of deuterium and argon, were annealed at 300 °C for 40 min in flowing oxygen gas by using tubular gold image furnace.

Oxygen‐Driven Structural Reorganization by Trace Water Enabling Fast Li‐Ion Transport in a Pliable Solid Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Trace water is acting as a constructive mediator in 2LiCl–GaF3, markedly increasing ionic conductivity while reorganizing local coordination. Hydration creates localized Li+ solvation environments and partially dissociates ion pairs, enhancing Li‐ion mobility.

Redirecting Excited‐State Proton Transfer Through Supramolecular Polymerization in Nanoconfinement

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Supramolecular confinement redirects the excited‐state proton transfer pathway of an amphoteric emitter. In water, the molecule undergoes ESPD, whereas co‐assembly with γ‐cyclodextrin forms nanotubes that template slip‐stacked emitter pairs and enable ESIMPT. Structural and photophysical characterization of the assemblies shows that the preorganization

InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs Multijunction Flexible Photovoltaics With Chemical Robustness and Radiation Hardness for Unassisted Electrocatalysis and Space Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs triple‐junction platform encapsulated with ultrathin glass enables unassisted electrocatalysis and space applications by providing robust protection against chemically aggressive and radiation‐rich environments. This work establishes a unified III–V multijunction photovoltaic platform that bridges space photovoltaics and ...

Phosphoryl Radicals from Trivalent Iminyl Phosphines: A Photocatalytic Approach to N‐Phosphoryl Azetidines

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Photochemically generated phosphoryl radicals from iminyl phosphines enable strain‐release addition to azabicyclobutanes, providing access to elusive N‐phosphoryl azetidines. Combined experimental, computational, and EPR studies reveal an unconventional water‐assisted photoredox pathway.

On the Rate of Synthesis of Individual Proteins within and between Different Striated Muscles of the Rat

open access: yesProteomes, 2016
The turnover of muscle protein is responsive to different (patho)-physiological conditions but little is known about the rate of synthesis at the level of individual proteins or whether this varies between different muscles. We investigated the synthesis

Clathrate phase equilibria for the water plus deuterium oxide plus carbon dioxide and water plus deuterium oxide plus chlorodifluoromethane (R22) systems

open access: yes, 1996
Clathrate phase equilibria for two ternary water + deuterium oxide + carbon dioxide and water + deuterium oxide + chlorodifluoromethane (R22) systems were measured at several different mass % of water and deuterium oxide mixtures.

Study of body composition in elderly active women by the anthropometric and deuterium oxide methods. http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1980-0037.2012v14n6p615

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Cineantropometria e Desempenho Humano, 2012
Aging is accompanied by changes in body composition, including a decrease the free fat mass (FFM) and a progressive increase in the fat mass (FM). The objective this study was to report the body composition in elderly active women, using the anthropo ...
