PRODUCTION OF STERILITY IN MICE BY DEUTERIUM OXIDE [PDF]
Some of the conditions required to produce sterility in male mice by D/ sub 2/O were investigated. Sterility can be produced in C/sub 57/ male mice by substitution of 30% D/sub 2/O for normal water in the drinking water for two weeks. The mice become sterile four weeks aftcr the initial treatment with D/sub 2/O, and in this experiment two weeks after ...

Deuterium plasma exposure of thin oxide films on tungsten - oxygen removal and deuterium uptake
Recently we have shown that thin (33 to 55 nm) oxide films on tungsten (W) prevent deuterium (D) uptake from a low-temperature plasma (5 eV/D; 370 K; 1.4 × 1024 D/m2) into metallic W.

Deuterium retention in deposited W layer exposed to EAST deuterium plasma
The deposited W layers formed on the W plate by hydrogen plasma sputtering were exposed to deuterium plasma in EAST together with bare W plate. In TDS measurement, the deuterium release was clearly observed from the deposited W layer in addition to the ...

Production of Sterility in Mice by Deuterium Oxide [PDF]
Sterility was induced in both male and female mice following the substitution of D/sub 2/O for a part of the drinking water. Doses of 5 to 30% deuterium oxide were administered. C/sub 57/ and Swiss mice were used and both strain and sex differences in response to D/sub 2/O were noted.

Comparison of body composition analysis methods among centenary women: Seeking simpler methods
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the most commonly used body composition tools in clinical practice, such as anthropometry and electrical bioimpedance, and compare it with deuterium oxide.

Visible-light mediated catalytic asymmetric radical deuteration at non-benzylic positions
Catalytic asymmetric deuterations rely largely on two-electron reaction manifolds and are mostly limited to benzylic positions. Here, a metal-free platform using peptide- or sugar-derived chiral thiols and deuterium oxide allows for asymmetric open-shell
