We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Competing nonlinearities in quadratic nonlinear waveguide arrays
We demonstrate experimentally the existence of competing focusing and defocusing nonlinearities in a double-resonant system with quadratic nonlinear response.

Measurement of calcium isotopes (δ44Ca) using a multicollector TIMS technique [PDF]
We propose a new“multicollector technique” for the thermal ionization mass spectrometer (TIMS) measurement of calcium (Ca) isotope ratios improving average internal statistical uncertainty of the 44Ca/40Ca measurements by a factor of 2–4 and average ...

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Winding Number Transitions in the Mottola-Wipf Model on a Circle [PDF]
Winding number transitions from quantum to classical behavior are studied in the case of the {1+1} dimensional Mottola-Wipf model with the space coordinate on a circle for exploring the possibility of obtaining transitions of second order.

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
