[Modern evolutional developmental biology: mechanical and molecular genetic or phenotypic approaches?].

Ontogenez, 2010
Heightened interest in the evolutionary problems of developmental biology in the 1980s was due to the success of molecular genetics and disappointment in the synthetic theory of evolution, where the chapters of embryology and developmental biology seem to have been left out.

Genetic and developmental disorders of the oral mucosa: Epidemiology; molecular mechanisms; diagnostic criteria; management

Periodontology 2000, 2019
AbstractA large number of disorders may affect the oral cavity, including genetic diseases, infections, cancers, blood diseases, skin diseases, endocrine and metabolic disorders, autoimmune and rheumatologic diseases, local lesions, to name a few. Oral mucosa shows a considerable variation in its normal structure and a wide range of conditions may ...

[Molecular mechanisms of environmental estrogens on reproductive and developmental toxicity].

Wei sheng yan jiu = Journal of hygiene research, 2003
It has been shown that numerous natural and synthetic chemicals with estrogenic activities are reproductive or developmental toxic factors in humans or animals by epidemiological investigations and animal experiments. The mechanisms of toxicity, however, are very complicated, especially the molecular mechanisms.

Molecular mechanisms of environmental pollutant-induced cartilage damage: from developmental disorders to osteoarthritis

Archives of Toxicology
The objective of the present study was to review the molecular mechanisms of the adverse effects of environmental pollutants on chondrocytes and extracellular matrix (ECM). Existing data demonstrate that both heavy metals, including cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and arsenic (As), as well as organic pollutants, including polychlorinated dioxins and furans ...

Molecular and cellular correlates of the developmental acquisition of mechanisms modulating ingestive behavior

Physiology & Behavior, 2004
Postnatal development in most mammals is accompanied by the acquisition of controls of ingestion. In rodents, the initial and default controller appears to be gastric stretch. In the second week of life, rat pups acquire the ability to sense the presence of nutrients within the gut and appropriately modulate ingestion.
