Spinodal decomposition in polymer mixtures via surface diffusion [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We present experimental results for spinodal decomposition in polymer mixtures of gelatin and dextran. The domain growth law is found to be consistent with t^1/4-growth over extended time-regimes. Similar results are obtained from lattice simulations of a polymer mixture.

Electrical Microneedles for Wound Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A review on state‐of‐art research concerning electrical microneedles applied for wound treatment is presented. After a comprehensive analysis of mechanisms of electrical stimulation on wound healing, the derived three types of electrical microneedles are clarified and summarized. Further, their applications in wound healing are highlighted.

Second-harmonic magnetic response characterizing magnetite-based colloid [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Nonlinear second-harmonic magnetic response (M2) was used to characterize an aqueous colloidal solution of dextran-coated magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles. Data analysis with the formalism based on Gilbert-Landau-Lifshitz equation for stochastic dynamics of superparamagnetic (SP) particles ensured extensive quantifying of the system via a set of ...

TRIM38 Suppresses the Progression of Colorectal Cancer via Enhancing CCT6A Ubiquitination to Inhibit the MYC Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the tumor‐suppressive role of TRIM38 in colorectal cancer (CRC). TRIM38 is downregulated through DNA hypermethylation and correlates with unfavorable clinical features and poor prognosis. Mechanistically, TRIM38 inhibits CRC progression by promoting K48‐linked ubiquitination of CCT6A, leading to the destabilization of c‐Myc.

Caspase‐6/Gasdermin C‐Mediated Tumor Cell Pyroptosis Promotes Colorectal Cancer Progression Through CXCL2‐Dependent Recruitment of Myeloid‐Derived Suppressor Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypoxic and low‐glucose conditions in tumor tissues trigger colorectal tumor cell pyroptosis via sequential activation of the Caspase‐1/Caspase‐6/GSDMC axis. High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), released from GSDMC‐mediated pyroptotic tumor cells, upregulates CXCL2 expression in adjacent tumor cells, thereby recruiting myeloid‐derived suppressor cells ...
