CDP-choline:1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1997
Cholinephosphotransferase transfers a phosphocholine moiety from CDP-choline to diacylglycerol thus forming phosphatidylcholine (PtdCho) and CMP. This reaction defines the ultimate step in the Kennedy pathway for the genesis of de novo synthesized PtdCho. Hence, the intracellular location of cholinephosphotransferase identifies both the site from which

Studies of diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase and diacylglycerol ethanolaminephosphotransferase activities in Tetrahymena microsomes

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1981
Microsomes isolated from Tetrahymena pyriformis synthesized phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine by CDPcholine: 1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase (EC 2.7.8.2) and CDPethanolamine: 1,2-diacylglycerol ethanolaminephosphotransferase (EC 2.7.8.1), utilizing ethanol-dispersed dioleoglycerol.

Effect of phospholipase A2 on rat liver microsomal diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase, diacylglycerol ethanolaminephosphotransferase and diacylglycerol acyltransferase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1978
Abstract Rat liver microsomes were treated with snake venom (Naja naja) phospholipase A2. Effect of the degradation of microsomal major phospholipids were studied on the activities of diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase (EC 2.7.8.2), diacylglycerol ethanolaminephosphotransferase (EC 2.7.8.1) and diacylglycerol acyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.20).

Control of phosphatidylethanolamine metabolism in yeast: Diacylglycerol ethanolaminephosphotransferase and diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase are separate enzymes

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1984
Membrane preparations from Saccharomyces cerevisiae catalyze the transfer of phosphoethanolamine and phosphocholine from the cytidine dinucleotide derivatives to endogenous and exogenous 1,2-diacylglycerols. Utilizing CDP-[14C]ethanolamine and CDP-[14C]choline as isotopic substrates, diacylglycerol ethanolaminephosphotransferase (EPT) and ...

Acyl specificity of CDPcholine:l,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase in rat lung

Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1977
Under optimal conditions, rat lung microsomal cholinephosphotransferase (EC 2.7.8.2) activity is markedly stimulated by exogenously added 1,2-sn-diacylglycerols containing an unsaturated fatty acid at the 2-position. Diacylglycerols containing long-chain saturated fatty acids at the 1- and 2-positions did not stimulate the incorporation of CDP[14C ...

Studies on CDP-choline: 1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase activity in rat arterial wall

Atherosclerosis, 1982
The properties of CDP-choline:1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase (CPT) (EC 2.7.8.2.), which catalyzes de novo synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, were studied in rat arterial wall. The optimal pH of CPT of the arterial wall was about 8.5. On subcellular fractionation of the arterial wall, the highest activity was found in the microsome-rich ...

Cholinephosphotransferase from rabbit lung microsomes. An improved assay and specificity towards exogenous diacylglycerols

Lung, 1976
Cholinephosphotransferase is an important enzyme in the synthesis of pulmonary surfactant, the major surface-active component of which is dipalmitoylglycerophosphocholine. Cholinephosphotransferase from rabbit lung microsomes was assayed using a variety of exogenous diacylglycerols as substrate.

Selective utilization of endogenous unsaturated phosphatidylcholines and diacylglycerols by cholinephosphotransferase of mouse lung microsomes

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1976
In the presence of CMP, cholinephosphotransferase of mouse lung microsomes catalyzes the conversion of endogenous phosphatidylcholines into 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerols and CDPcholine. 2. In this conversion cholinephosphotransferase shows a distinct preference for those molecular species of phosphatidylcholine which contain an unsaturated fatty acid.
