Utilization of disaturated and unsaturated phosphatidylcholine and diacylglycerols by cholinephosphotransferase in rat lung microsomes

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1982
1. Cholinephosphosphotransferase catalyzes the conversion of diacylglycerol and CDPcholine into phosphatidylcholine and CMP. Incubation of rat lung microsomes containing phosphatidyl[Me-14C]choline with CMP resulted in an increase in water-soluble radioactivity, suggesting that also in rat lung microsomes the cholinephosphotransferase reaction is ...

Inhibition of diacylglycerol: CDPcholine cholinephosphotransferase activity by dimethylaminoethylp‐clorophenoxyacetate

Lipids, 1978
AbstractCholinephosphotransferase [EC 2.7.8.2] activity of rat liver microsomes, with 1,2‐di‐0‐[3H]acyl glycerol or 1‐0‐hexadecanoyl [U‐14C]ethanediol as substrate, was inhibited byN,N‐dimethylaminoethylp‐chlorophenoxyacetate (centrophenoxine). Inhibition progressed in a linear fashion with increasing drug levels and was complete at 30 mM concentration.

Overexpression of the Phosphatidylcholine: Diacylglycerol Cholinephosphotransferase (Pdct) Gene Increases Carbon Flux Toward Triacylglycerol (Tag) Synthesis in Camelina Sativa Seeds

Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, 2023
Camelinasativa has considerable promise as a dedicated industrial oilseed crop. Its oil-based blends have been tested and approved as liquid transportation fuels. Previously, we utilized metabolomic and transcriptomic profiling approaches and identified metabolic bottlenecks that control oil production and accumulation in seeds.

Utilization of diacylglycerol species by cholinephospho-transferase, ethanolaminephosphotransferase and diacylglycerol acyltransferase in rat liver microsomes

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1970
Abstract 1. 1. Several mixtures of 3H- and 14C-labelled diacylglycerols at varying degrees of unsaturation were incubated in the simultaneous presence of CDP-choline and CDP-ethanolamine with rat-liver microsomes. The results obtained allowed the conclusion that both choline- and ethanolaminephosphotransferase show no specificity with respect to ...

Solubilization and reconstitution of cholinephosphotransferase from sarcoplasmic reticulum: stabilization of solubilized enzyme by diacylglycerol and glycerol

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1985
Cholinephosphotransferase (CDPcholine: 1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase, EC 2.7.8.2), which catalyzes the terminal step in phosphatidylcholine synthesis via the CDPcholine pathway, is present in sarcoplasmic reticulum from rabbit skeletal muscle (Cornell, R. and MacLennan, D.H. (1985) Biochim. Biophys. Acta 835, 567-576). The conditions for

CDP-choline: 1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase from rat liver microsomes. II. Photoaffinity labeling by radioactive CDP-choline analogs

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1992
Photoaffinity labeling of cholinephosphotransferase from rat liver microsomes directly by its substrate, [32P]CDP-choline or by a synthetic photoreactive CDP-choline analog, 3'(2')-O-(4-benzoyl)benzoyl [32P]CDP-choline (BB-[32P]CDP-choline), was examined for the possible identification of its molecular form on subsequent SDS-PAGE followed by 32P ...

sn-1,2-Diacylglycerol Cholinephosphotransferase from Pig Liver: Mixed Micellar Assay and Kinetic Analysis of the Partially Pure Enzyme

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1993
sn-1,2-Diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase from pig liver microsomes was partially purified through a procedure involving solubilization with sodium cholate and chromatography on Sepharose 6B. The resulting preparation was 19-fold enriched with respect to microsomes and was shown to be very sensitive to different detergents.

Rapid phospholipase A2 stimulation and diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase inhibition in baby hamster kidney cells during initiation of dengue virus infection

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1981
Abstract Infection of baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cells by dengue type 2 (DEN-2) virus is accompanied by a rapid but transient stimulation of phospholipase A2 activity which reaches a maximum within 40 min. Thereafter, the phospholipase A2 activity, that is associated with the microsomal fraction, returns to normal levels at an equally rapid pace ...

Cholinephosphotransferase activities in microsomes and neuronal nuclei isolated from immature rabbit cerebral cortex: the use of endogenously generated diacylglycerols as substrate

Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1982
A neuronal nuclear fraction (N1) and a microsomal fraction (P3) were isolated from homogenates of cerebral cortices of 15-day-old rabbits. A nuclear envelope fraction (E) was prepared from N1. To assay cholinephosphotransferase, diacylglycerols were first generated in the membranes of these subfractions using a phospholipase C (Bacillus cereus ...

Studies on 1,2-diglycerides formed from endogenous lecithins by the back-reaction of rat liver microsomal cdpcholine: 1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1973
Abstract Labeled or unlabeled microsomes were incubated with CMP and the 1,2-diglycerides formed from endogenous lecithins by the back-reaction of CDPcholine : 1,2-diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase were studied. The formed 1,2-diglycerides were found to be degraded by the microsomal lipolytic activity, and the stoichiometric formation of 1,2 ...
