SYNDROME OF LOW TOLERANCE TO HISTAMINE: VALUE FOR PRACTICAL MEDICINE
Histamine – biogenic amine that is synthesized in the human body and acts as a mediator of a number of biological reactions. The extracellular histamine pathway involving enzymes diamine oxidase.

Putrescine-sensitive (artifactual) and insensitive (biosynthetic) S-adenosyl-L-methionine decarboxylase activities of Lathyrus sativus seedlings [PDF]
The crude extracts of 3-day-old etiolated seedlings of Lathyrus sativus contained two S-adenosyl-L-methionine decarboxylase activities. The artifactual putrescine-dependent activity was due to the H2O2 generated by diamine oxidase (EC 1.4.3.6) of this ...

Site-specific expression of amine oxidases in breast cancer metastases
We aimed to evaluate the expression of amine oxidase-related proteins in metastatic breast cancer tissue and determine its clinical implication. A tissue microarray was constructed from a total of 126 metastatic breast tumors (31 bone metastases (24.6%),

Single-Molecule Circuits with Well-Defined Molecular Conductance [PDF]
We measure the conductance of amine-terminated molecules by breaking Au point contacts in a molecular solution at room temperature. We find that the variability of the observed conductance for the diamine molecule-Au junctions is much less than the variability for diisonitrile and dithiol-Au junctions.

Electrochemical tuning of alcohol oxidase and dehydrogenase catalysis via biosensing towards butanol-1 detection in fermentation media [PDF]
A novel approach for electrochemical tuning of alcohol oxidase (AOx) and alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) biocatalysis towards butanol-1 oxidation by incorporating enzymes in various designs of amperometric biosensors is presented. The biosensors were developed by using commercial graphene oxide-based screen-printed electrodes and varying enzyme producing ...

Plasma diamine oxidase activity in asthmatic children
Histamine plays an important role in the development of asthmatic symptoms. Diamine oxidase (DAO histaminase), which inactivates histamine, is located in the intestine and kidney and is released into plasma.

Hysteresis curves reveal the microscopic origin of cooperative CO$_2$ adsorption in diamine-appended metal-organic frameworks [PDF]
Diamine-appended metal{organic frameworks (MOFs) of the form Mg2(dobpdc)(diamine)2 adsorb CO2 in a cooperative fashion, exhibiting an abrupt change in CO2 occupancy with pressure or temperature. This change is accompanied by hysteresis. While hysteresis is suggestive of a firstorder phase transition, we show that hysteretic temperature-occupancy curves

The clinical meaning of histamine skin reactivity [PDF]
The definition of the “atopic state”, i.e. subjects presenting at least one skin wheal with a minimum diameter of 3 mm induced by an allergen skin-prick test (ASPT), is based on the assumption that wheal size depends entirely on the amount of histamine
