Synthesis, Structure and Characterization of a Helical Seven-Coordinated...

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2013
[Cd(C7H3NO4)(H2O)1.5]n or [Cd(2,6-pydc)(H2O)1.5]n, (1) (2,6-pydc = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate) was obtained from the reaction of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and 4-hydroxypyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid with cadmium(II) nitrate tetrahydrate in the ...

Synthesis of chiral cyclohexane-linked bisimidazolines

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Both chiral bisoxazolines and bisimidazolines are efficient chiral ligands in metal-catalyzed asymmetric organic transformations. Chiral cyclohexane-linked bisimidazolines were prepared from optically active cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid and 1,2 ...

Synthesis of 4-14C-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid.

open access: yes, 1978
Dipicolinic acid (pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), labelled with l4C, has been synthesised, on a miniature scale, starting from formal-dehyde-[14C]. The radioactive label was incorporated into the '4' position of the pyridine ring to prevent possible ...

Dietary dicarboxylic acids provide a nonstorable alternative fat source that protects mice against obesity

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation
Dicarboxylic fatty acids are generated in the liver and kidney in a minor pathway called fatty acid ω-oxidation. The effects of consuming dicarboxylic fatty acids as an alternative source of dietary fat have not been explored.

Improved Solubility of Vortioxetine Using C2-C4 Straight-Chain Dicarboxylic Acid Salt Hydrates

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
The purpose of this study was to improve the solubility of vortioxetine by crystal engineering principles. In this paper, three C2-C4 straight-chain dicarboxylic acid salt hydrates of vortioxetine (VOT-OA, VOT-MA-H2O, and VOT-SUA-H2O, VOT = vortioxetine,

Pharmaceutical salts of ciprofloxacin with dicarboxylic acids

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2015
New salts of antibiotic drug ciprofloxacin (CIP) with pharmaceutically acceptable maleic (Mlt), fumaric (Fum) and adipic (Adp) acids were obtained and their crystal structures were determined. The crystal lattices of the fumarate and adipate salts were found to accommodate the water molecules, while the maleate salt was anhydrous.

Liquid Heat Capacity Measurements of the Linear Dicarboxylic Acid Family via Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry

open access: yes, 2020
This paper reports liquid heat capacity data on members of the linear saturated dicarboxylic acid family and one dicarboxylic acid derivative measured using modulated differential scanning calorimetry. The dicarboxylic acids range in carbon number from 4

The Oxidation Mechanisms of Saturated Fatty Acids: Formation of Hydroperoxide Isomers and Production of 2‐Alkanones and Lactones

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Saturated fatty acids (SFAs) are generally regarded simply as being resistant to oxidation compared with unsaturated fatty acids. However, it has long been reported that SFAs can undergo oxidation when heated at high temperatures, leading to the formation of unique degradation products such as 2‐alkanones and lactones.
