Lipase-Catalyzed Polymerization of Glycerol and Dicarboxylic Acids in an Organic Medium

open access: yesMolecules, 2000
Lipases from different sources catalyze the polyesterification of glycerol and several dicarboxylic acids in presence or organic ...

Re-evaluating the list of high-production chemicals predicted to become Arctic contaminants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The large number of historical and current organic chemicals in commerce, and the ability of these compounds to make their way from industrial to remote regions, has resulted in concerted efforts to predict which chemicals have the capacity to migrate ...

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Semiquantitative Infrared Analysis of Diketones and Anhydrides in a Reaction Mixture [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
The ozonolysis of a hydroxymethylene ketone yields a mixture of diketone and anhydride. Treatment of hydroxymethylene camphor with ozone affords, in addition to the expected camphor quinone, a surprisingly large amount of camphoric anhydride (56%) via ...

Cloud condensation nucleus (CCN) behavior of organic aerosol particles generated by atomization of water and methanol solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Cloud condensation nucleus (CCN) experiments were carried out for malonic acid, succinic acid, oxalacetic acid, DL-malic acid, glutaric acid, DL-glutamic acid monohydrate, and adipic acid, using both water and methanol as atomization solvents, at three ...

Synergistic Hydrogen‐Bonding and Covalent Crosslinking in Polybenzimidazole Membranes for Wide‐Temperature Anhydrous Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐network architecture combining a thermally reinforced hydrogen‐bonding matrix with an amine‐anhydride covalent framework was constructed in Tröger's Base (TB)‐functionalized polybenzimidazoles. This design yielded the TBAm‐PBI‐TB membrane with high acid uptake (469.5%), anhydrous conductivity (264.7 mS cm−1), and robust stability.

Pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2004
The title compound, C6H4N2O4, is a new unsolvated form of pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid. The asymmetric unit contains two independent molecules with different geometry. The planes of the carboxylic groups make dihedral angles with the planar pyrazine rings of 22.7 (2) and 50.0 (2)° in one molecule, and 9.7 (2) and 79.1 (2)° in the other.

Enhanced Energy Transfer from a Metal–Organic Framework to a Highly Confined Organic Phosphorescent Dye

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A phosphorescent dye was designed to fit in a hand‐to‐glove fashion into the 1D‐pore channels of MIL‐68(In). We synthesized MIL‐68(In) as powder and thin films, loaded the dye into the pores with controlled packing, and found that the phosphorescence and quantum yield are enhanced.

Biodegradability and biocompatibility of copoly(butylene sebacate-co-terephthalate)s [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In the present study poly (butylene sebacate-co-terephthalate)s having different compositions were synthesized with a high yield and a random distribution by thermal transesterification of poly (butylene sebacate) and poly (butylene terephthalate ...
