Activation of Metal Complexes With Ultrasound Waves for Targeted Anticancer Therapy
Ultrasound enables non‐invasive activation of metal‐based therapeutics deep within tumors. Acoustic cavitation can drive sonodynamic reactive oxygen species generation or mechanochemical metal–ligand bond dissociation, enabling controlled release of bioactive payloads.

Renewable guaiacols are rapidly oxidized by phenyliodine(III)diacetate to masked ortho‐quinones, giving a new class of monomers that undergo selective Michael‐type polyaddition with multithiols to from thiol‐guaiacol connectivity‐bearing polymers. The activation applies to discrete monomers and directly to lignin, enabling two‐component adhesives that ...

Stereoselective synthesis of α-methylenecyclopentenones via a Diels-Alder/retro-Diels-Alder protocol
A new procedure for the stereoselective synthesis of cross-conjugated dienones is reported. This method makes use of the Diels–Alder adduct of anthracene and dimethyl fumarate, a precursor to a spirocyclopent-2-enone anthracene adduct as the key ...

Computational analysis of the enantioselectivity of diels-alder reactions involving chiral cationic oxazaborolidinium catalyst / Nasr Y.M. Omar [PDF]
This thesis is divided into six chapters. In the first chapter, the results of standard high-performance computing (HPC) benchmarks are presented in order to assess the performance characteristics of the various hardware and software components of an ...
