How Ionization Catalyzes Diels–Alder Reactions
AbstractInvited for the cover of this issue are Pascal Vermeeren, Trevor A. Hamlin, and F. Matthias Bickelhaupt of the TheoCheM group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The cover art depicts how ionizing the dienophile lowers the Diels–Alder reaction barrier between 1,3‐butadiene and acrylaldehyde by reducing the destabilizing steric Pauli repulsion ...

Smart REASSURED Sensors via Machine‐Augmented Printable On‐Paper Arrays
This perspective highlights the emerging role of pattern‐recognition, printable on‐paper sensor arrays for intelligent PoC diagnostics. It discusses how paper's inherent limitations can be overcome through surface modification and scalable printing, and how machine‐learning analysis of cross‐reactive arrays enables multiplexed, low‐cost, and REASSURED ...

Bacterial biofilms form a physicochemical barrier. Their dense network structure and redox homeostasis confer high resistance to antimicrobial treatments and immune‐mediated killing and clearance. In this study, SnSe nanosheets with enzyme‐like properties and piezoelectric catalysis can oscillate to regulate bacterial redox homeostasis and improve the ...

REACTION OF 4-METHYL- 1 2,4-TRIAZOLINE- 3,5-DIONE WITH DI AND TRI-SUBSTITUTED STYRENES S.E. Mallakpour* and G.B. Butler** [PDF]
2,4,6-Triisopropylstryrene was synthesized in a single step via the Witting Reaction from the corresponding aldehyde. The reaction of three styrene's derivatives, 2,6-dimethylstyrene, 2,4,6-trimethylstyrene, and 2,4,6- triisopropylstyrene with 4-methyl-l,

Considerable improvement in the performance of fully‐hydrocarbon‐based fuel cells is necessary to replace and compete with Per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances‐containing fuel cells. Herein, a way to enhance the ionic conductivity of the catalyst layer (CL) by incorporating insoluble ionomer particles into the CL is presented.
