Paternal Caffeine Exposure Programs Offspring Stress Vulnerability via Sperm Dlk1‐Dio3 Imprinting‐Directed Remodeling of a Novel Neural Circuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

Beetroot and Sodium Nitrate Ameliorate Cardiometabolic Changes in Diet-Induced Obese Hypertensive Rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
SCOPE: Dietary intake of beetroot by humans reduces blood pressure but whether this is caused by nitrate or betanin is not well-defined; neither are effects on other signs of metabolic syndrome. METHODS AND RESULTS: Rats fed a high-carbohydrate, high-fat

Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Analysis Reveals a Metabolic‐Immune Axis Driving Aortic Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell and spatial profiling of 110 human thoracic aortic samples reveals a stromal–immune circuit driving aortic dissection. An elastin‐rich fibroblast subset is depleted with age and markedly reduced in disease, weakening aortic wall integrity.

The RNA‐Binding Protein PARN Remodeled 3′ UTR Structure Defines Poly(A)‐Loading Sites to Mediate Immunoglobulin Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Class Switch Recombination (CSR) is essential for generating high‐affinity antibody isotypes from IgM during adaptive humoral responses. Despite well‐established roles for various transcription factors, whether CSR is subject to dedicated post‐transcriptional control represents a significant gap in knowledge.
