Weakened subdifferentials and Frechet differentiability of real functions [PDF]

open access: yes
Let X be a real Banach space and f : X ! R [ {+1}. It is well known that the Clarke subdifferential @ f(x) of the function f at x 2 int dom f is a singleton if and only if f is strongly differentiable (then @ f(x) = {Dsf(x)}, where Dsf(x) is the strong ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Differential Privacy for Functions and Functional Data

open access: yesCoRR, 2012
Differential privacy is a framework for privately releasing summaries of a database. Previous work has focused mainly on methods for which the output is a finite dimensional vector, or an element of some discrete set. We develop methods for releasing functions while preserving differential privacy.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

On some inequalities related to open Newton-Cotes formulas for differentiable convex functions with applications

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes
In this paper, first, we prove a novel integral identity involving a single time-differentiable function. Then, we prove some new inequalities associated with one of the open Newton-Cotes formulas for differentiable convex functions.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

On the Taylor Differentiability in Spaces Lp, 0 < p ≤ ∞

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2018
The function \(f\in L_p[I], \;p>0,\) is called \((k,p)\)-differentiable at a point \(x_0\in I\) if there exists an algebraic polynomial of \(\pi\) of degree no more than \(k\) for which holds \( \Vert f-\pi \Vert_{L_p[J_h]} = o(h^{k+\frac{1}{p ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

An effective computational approach to the local fractional low-pass electrical transmission lines model

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
In this research, a new fractional low-pass electrical transmission lines model (LPETLM) described by the local fractional derivative (LFD) is derived for the first time.
