Airborne Lidar observations of water vapor transport

open access: yes, 2012
Water vapor, a minor constituent of the earth’s atmosphere, plays a major role in the radiation budget and the water cycle with important implications for weather and climate.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Balloon-borne stratospheric BrO measurements: comparison with Envisat/SCIAMACHY BrO limb profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
For the first time, results of all four existing stratospheric BrO profiling instruments, are presented and compared with reference to the SLIMCAT 3-dimensional chemical transport model (3-D CTM).

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Ozone Measurements Using the Refurbished Eureka Stratospheric Differential Absorption Lidar

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Remote Sensing, 2019
The Stratospheric Ozone Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) located at the Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Laboratory (PEARL) in Eureka, Nunavut (80°N, 86°W) has been a powerful tool for the measurement of stratospheric ozone vertical profiles in

Metabolomic analysis-identified 2-hydroxybutyric acid might be a key metabolite of severe preeclampsia

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences, 2023
This study set out to determine the key metabolite changes underlying the pathophysiology of severe preeclampsia (PE) using metabolic analysis. We collected sera from 10 patients with severe PE and from 10 healthy pregnant women of the same trimester and

Simultaneous Gas Absorption and Liquid Phase Chemical Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
The present apparatus was used to obtain rate data for the absorption of oxygen in a catalysed liquid phase reaction with acetaldehyde. The effects of several system parameters, namely, acetaldehyde concentration, catalyst concentration, partial pressure

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Wave optics of differential absorption spectroscopy in thick-junction organic solar cells

open access: yes, 2022
Differential absorption spectroscopy techniques serve as powerful techniques to study the excited species in organic solar cells. However, it has always been challenging to employ these techniques for characterizing thick-junction organic solar cells ...

Imaging of Atmospheric Dispersion Processes with Differential Absorption Lidar [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences
We consider the inverse problem of fitting atmospheric dispersion parameters based on time-resolved back-scattered differential absorption Lidar (DIAL) measurements. The obvious advantage of light-based remote sensing modalities is their extended spatial range which makes them less sensitive to strictly local perturbations/modelling errors or the ...
