MEAT DEMAND IN THE UK: A DIFFERENTIAL APPROACH

open access: yes
A differential approach is employed to analyze demand for meat in the United Kingdom during 1989-99. Differential demand systems with fixed price effects (Rotterdam and CBS) better explain consumersÂ’ retail purchase allocation decisions for beef, lamb ...

Stability in distribution of stochastic functional differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we investigate the stability in distribution for a class of stochastic functional differential equations (SFDEs), which include stochastic differential delay equations (SDDEs).

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A novel differential evolution algorithmic approach to transmission expansion planning

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Nowadays modern electric power systems consist of large-scale and highly complex interconnected transmission systems, thus transmission expansion planning ...
