A differential game of retailer promotions
Automatica, 2003Assume that \(N\) retailers choose their local promotion rates to increase the demand at their outlets, while the manufacturer controls his promotion rate in national media. By doing this he affects in a positive way the brand image, while the retailers affect the brand image negatively despite the fact the latter has a positive impact on the outlet ...

An Overview of Differential Games
1981The paper is concerned with some general problems of differential game theory and is organized in six sections. Sections I-II include examples, descriptions of the main notions of the theory of differential games (such as dynamic system, decision-maker, available information, performance criteria etc.).

A Differential Game in Economics
Management Science, 1971The problem of profit maximization for two firms manufacturing the same commodity is cast as a differential game. The qualitative aspects of the equilibrium point solution of the game are then discussed with the aid of some results on ordinary differential equations.

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2009
This paper concerns the existence of a possible discontinuous value for a zero sum two-player reflected differential game under Isaacs condition. We characterize the value function as the unique solution—in a suitable sense—to a variational inequality, namely, the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs differential inclusion.

THE PEDESTRIAN PRINCIPLE FOR DIFFERENTIAL GAMES
International Game Theory Review, 2006A dynamic normal formulation for differential games is introduced and the "pedestrian principle" is discussed as a means of dynamically implementing the equilibrium strategy in a single game. Our formulation emphasizes the distinction between a player's rational prediction and the actual evolution of the game dynamics.

Differential Games with Additive Payoffs
International Game Theory ReviewDifferential games with additive payoffs are considered. A new approach to constructing the characteristic function for such games is defined. Properties of optimality principles such as the core and the Shapley value constructed by applying the new characteristic function are studied. The solutions obtained are demonstrated by means of an example.

Differential games with partial differential equations
1975Examples of differential games are given, where the state equation is a partial differential equation. They can be solved explicitly and show clearly how the values of the control functions enter in the solution. This enables us to set up a method of solving these games, which should also be applied to more complicated differential games, complementing
