Protecting Your Shopping Preference With Differential Privacy

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, 2021
Online banks may disclose consumers’ shopping preferences due to various attacks. With differential privacy, each consumer can disturb his consumption amount locally before sending it to online banks. However, directly applying differential privacy in online banks will incur problems in reality because existing differential privacy schemes do not ...

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Self‐adaptive transformer differential protection

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2013
Setting the pickup current and slope of differential relays of power transformer protection is a well‐known compromise. It has been the focus of study to improve both the security and sensitivity of transformer differential protection recently.

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

Impact of disconnector position anomalies on busbar differential protection and its correction logic

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
The input of disconnector positions directly affects the selectivity and operation reliability of busbar differential protection. First, the impact of disconnector position anomalies on the operation of busbar differential protection is introduced, along

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Problem of Equality in Takings, The [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Supreme Court is finally beginning to bring clarity to the law of regulatory takings and in the process is bringing to the fore a previously submerged theme in the jurisprudence: regulatory takings as a question of distributional justice and ...
