The genomic and evolutionary landscapes of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma
Summary: Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma is arguably the most lethal human malignancy. It often co-occurs with differentiated thyroid cancers, yet the molecular origins of its aggressivity are unknown.

Low dose radiation regulates BRAF-induced thyroid cellular dysfunction and transformation [PDF]
Background: The existence of differentiated thyroid cells is critical to respond radioactive iodide treatment strategy in thyroid cancer, and loss of the differentiated phenotype is a trademark of iodide-refractive thyroid disease.

Mouse models of follicular and papillary thyroid cancer progression
A significant number of well-differentiated thyroid cancers progress or recur, becoming resistant to current therapeutic options. Mouse models recapitulating the genetic and histological features of advanced thyroid cancer have been an invaluable tool ...

Thyroid-hormone therapy and thyroid cancer: a reassessment. [PDF]
Experimental studies and clinical data have demonstrated that thyroid-cell proliferation is dependent on thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thereby providing the rationale for TSH suppression as a treatment for differentiated thyroid cancer.

Increasing incidence of thyroid cancer in shanghai, China, 1983-2007 [PDF]
Increasing incidences of thyroid cancer were observed in some countries, like USA, UK, France, etc. Jointpoint regression was used to analyze the incidence of thyroid cancer in Shanghai, China, from 1983 to 2007.

Managing differentiated thyroid cancer
Although differentiated thyroid cancers are not common, they are as common as cervical cancer and multiple myeloma and are the commonest malignant endocrine tumours. Furthermore, they are among the few curable cancers. When managed according to best practice the vast majority of patients can expect cure, so good management is mandatory.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
