Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG): Breakthrough and Clinical Perspective

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2021
: Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) mainly affects children with a median age of 6-7 years old. It accounts for 10% of all pediatric tumors. Unfortunately, DIPG has a poor prognosis, and the median survival is generally less than 16-24 months independently from the treatment received.

Developing chemotherapy for diffuse pontine intrinsic gliomas (DIPG)

Critical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology, 2017
Prognosis of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is poor, with a median survival of 10 months after radiation. At present, chemotherapy has failed to show benefits over radiation. Advances in biotechnology have enabled the use of autopsy specimens for genomic analyses and molecular profiling of DIPG, which are quite different from those of ...

Immunogenicity of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG)

The Journal of Immunology, 2018
Abstract Background Little information exists about the potential immunogenicity and immunotargets for DIPG. Most of the pediatric neurotumors are mainly unexplored immunologically. We studied twenty repository samples of DIPG tumors.

Hypofractionated conformal radiotherapy for pediatric diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG): A randomized controlled trial

Radiotherapy and Oncology, 2014
The pediatric diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) outcome remains dismal despite multiple therapeutic attempts. To compare the results of treatment of pediatric diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) using hypofractionated versus conventional radiotherapy.Seventy-one newly diagnosed DIPG children were randomized into hypofractionated (HF) (39Gy/13 ...

Abstract B05: Mechanisms of PPM1D-mediated tumorigenesis in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG)

Cancer Research, 2018
Abstract Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), the most common pediatric brainstem tumor, is associated with a dismal prognosis with almost no survivors within two years of diagnosis. It is unamenable to surgical resection, is not responsive to conventional chemotherapy, and responds only temporarily to radiation therapy (XRT). Recent
