Limitations to oxygen transport and utilization during sprint exercise in humans: evidence for a functional reserve in muscle O2 diffusing capacity

open access: yesJournal of Physiology, 2015
Severe acute hypoxia reduces sprint performance. Muscle V̇O2 during sprint exercise in normoxia is not limited by O2 delivery, O2 offloading from haemoglobin or structure‐dependent diffusion constraints in the skeletal muscle of young healthy men.

RITUXIMAB TREATMENT FOR INTERSTITIAL LUNG INJURY IN SCLERODERMA SYSTEMATICA

open access: yesНаучно-практическая ревматология, 2013
Objective: to study the efficiency and tolerance of rituximab (RTM) treatment in patients with scleroderma systematica (SDS) with interstitial lung injury (ILI).Subjects and methods. The trial included 27 patients (26 women and 1 man) (mean age 45.7±13.0

Thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity of linear alkylbenzene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We report the measurements of the thermal diffusivity and the isobaric specific heat capacity of linear alkylbenzene at about 23$\,^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ with the standard atmosphere, which are measured for the first time. The conductivity, heat capacity ratio, and speed of sound were derived from our measurements based on thermodynamic relations.

Combined diffusing capacity for nitric oxide and carbon monoxide as predictor of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome following lung transplantation

open access: yesRespiratory Research, 2018
Background There is a need for non-invasive parameters that are sensitive to the development of the bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) in lung transplantation (LTx) patients.

Absolute lung size and the sex difference in breathlessness in the general population. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Breathlessness is associated with major adverse health outcomes and is twice as common in women as men in the general population. We evaluated whether this is related to their lower absolute lung volumes.Cross-sectional analysis of the population-based ...

Predictors of Diffusing Capacity in Children With Sickle Cell Disease: A Longitudinal Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2021
Background: Gas exchange abnormalities in Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) may represent cardiopulmonary deterioration. Identifying predictors of these abnormalities in children with SCD (C-SCD) may help us understand disease progression and develop informed ...

A Record-High Ion Storage Capacity of T-Graphene as Two-Dimensional Anode Material for Li-ion and Na-ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Developing applicable two-dimensional (2D) electrode materials with high performance, especially with high ion storage capacity, has become an ever more obsessive quest in recent years. Based on first-principles calculations, we report that T-graphene, a new carbon-based 2D material, has a record-high Li/Na storage capacity.

Postural variation of pulmonary diffusing capacity as a marker of lung microangiopathy in Indian patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2016
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is characterized by the presence of chronic hyperglycemia and formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Interaction between AGE and its receptor leads to endothelial damage and microangiopathy.

Capacity and Exit Time for Non-reversible Diffusions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Capacity is an important quantity in potential theory and in the study of Markov processes. We give equivalent conditions between the capacity, the mean exit time, and the Green function for non-reversible diffusions.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.
