Quantum theory of dynamic multiple light scattering
We formulate a quantum theory of dynamic multiple light scattering in fluctuating disordered media and calculate the fluctuation and the autocorrelation function of photon number operator for light transmitted through a disordered slab.

Prognostic implications of physiologic and radiographic changes in idiopathic interstitial pneumonia [PDF]
Idiopathic interstitial pneumonias are a diverse group of lung diseases with varied prognoses. We hypothesized that changes in physiologic and radiographic parameters would predict survival.

Jamming transition in air transportation networks
In this work we present a model of an air transportation traffic system from the complex network modelling viewpoint. In the network, every node corresponds to a given airport, and two nodes are connected by means of flight routes.

Diffusion of myosin V on microtubules [PDF]
Organelle transport in eukaryotes employs both microtubule and actin tracks to deliver cargo effectively to their destinations, but the question of how the two systems cooperate is still largely unanswered.

Absolute lung size and the sex difference in breathlessness in the general population. [PDF]
Breathlessness is associated with major adverse health outcomes and is twice as common in women as men in the general population. We evaluated whether this is related to their lower absolute lung volumes.Cross-sectional analysis of the population-based ...

On Lundh's percolation diffusion [PDF]
A collection of spherical obstacles in the unit ball in Euclidean space is said to be avoidable for Brownian motion if there is a positive probability that Brownian motion diffusing from some point in the ball will avoid all the obstacles and reach the ...

The need for race-specific reference equations for pulmonary diffusing capacity for nitric oxide
Background Few reference equations exist for healthy adults of various races for pulmonary diffusing capacity for nitric oxide (DLNO). The purpose of this study was to collect pilot data to demonstrate that race-specific reference equations are needed ...
