Indirect diffusion effect in degenerate reaction-diffusion systems [PDF]
In this work we study global well-posedness and large time behaviour for a typical reaction--diffusion system, which include degenerate diffusion, and whose non-linearities arise from chemical reactions. We show that there is an {\it indirect diffusion effect}, i.e. an effective diffusion for the non-diffusive species which is incurred by a combination

Dissipation enhancement of cellular flows in general advection diffusion equations [PDF]
The main contribution of this paper is twofold: (1) Recently, Iyer, Xu, and Zlato\v{s} studied the dissipation enhancement by cellular flows based on standard advection-diffusion equations via a stochastic method. We generalize their results to advective hyper-diffusion equations and advective nonlinear diffusion equations.

Quantum diffusion is studied via dissipative Madelung hydrodynamics. Initially the wave packet spreads ballistically, than passes for an instant through normal diffusion and later tends asymptotically to a sub-diffusive law. It is shown that the apparent

LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.

Dispersive Transport Described by the Generalized Fick Law with Different Fractional Operators
The approach based on fractional advection–diffusion equations provides an effective and meaningful tool to describe the dispersive transport of charge carriers in disordered semiconductors.

Diffusion, super-diffusion and coalescence from single step
From the exact single step evolution equation of the two-point correlation function of a particle distribution subjected to a stochastic displacement field $\bu(\bx)$, we derive different dynamical regimes when $\bu(\bx)$ is iterated to build a velocity ...

Quantitative image mean squared displacement (iMSD) analysis of the dynamics of profilin 1 at the membrane of live cells. [PDF]
Image mean square displacement analysis (iMSD) is a method allowing the mapping of diffusion dynamics of molecules in living cells. However, it can also be used to obtain quantitative information on the diffusion processes of fluorescently labelled ...

Unraveling Mycobacterium tuberculosis acid resistance and pH homeostasis mechanisms
Mycobacterium tuberculosis exhibits a remarkable resilience to acid stress. In this Review, we discuss some of the molecular mechanisms and metabolic pathways used by the tubercle bacilli to adapt and resist host‐mediated acid stress. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is a successful pathogen that has developed a variety of strategies to survive and ...

Measurement of spin diffusion in semi-insulating GaAs [PDF]
We use optical transient-grating spectroscopy to measure spin diffusion of optically oriented electrons in bulk, semi-insulating GaAs(100). Trapping and recombination do not quickly deplete the photoexcited population. The spin diffusion coefficient of 88 +/- 12 cm2/s is roughly constant at temperatures from 15 K to 150 K, and the spin diffusion length
