Diffusion bonding of A2017 aluminium alloy

Welding International, 1990
Diffusion bonding is a solid phase welding process in which bonding occurs through coalescence of the surfaces in contact. The principal operating parameters of diffusion bonding are the temperature, pressure and the bonding time. In addition to diffusion, other mechanisms such as microscopic creep or recrystallization also contribute to the formation ...

Modeling of Diffusion Bonding

2010
Abstract The goals of modeling diffusion bonding can be regarded as twofold: to optimize the selection of the process variables for a given material and to provide an understanding of the mechanisms by which bonding is achieved. This article describes the existing models of diffusion bonding with an assumption that the surfaces to be ...

Diffusion Bonding 2

1991
There is currently great interest in the process of diffusion bonding. The main thrust has been in the joining of advanced materials such as superplastic alloys, metal matrix composites and ceramics and, most importantly, to introduce the process into mass-production operations.

Diffusion bonding of gold to gold

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1974
Diffusion bonding of gold to gold was investigated at low pressures and temperatures. Mercury, indium, and gallium were the diffusing species; tests as a function of several surface finishes were made. Bonds that exceeded the yield point of gold were obtained with mercury.

Diffusion Bonding — An Overview

1991
Diffusion bonding is a microdeformation solid phase process finding application in niche areas. The mechanisms of bonding are generally understood, and data on modelling is available although limited to simple metal systems.

Diffusion bonding of advanced alloys

2013 International Conference on Aerospace Science & Engineering (ICASE), 2013
Advanced alloys are being developed for a variety of critical applications in the aerospace and nuclear industries and the joining together of dissimilar metals is also becoming increasingly important. However, for a joining process to be truly effective in the fabrication step of the component, it must be able to produce sound quality joints without ...

Alumina-Copper Diffusion Bonding

2008
