The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Microwave enhanced digestion of aerobic SBR sludge
Factorial experiments were carried out to determine the potential of microwaves (MWs) for improving characteristics of aerobic sequencing batch reactor (SBR) sludge to enhance mesophilic anaerobic digestion. Effects of pretreatment temperature, MW irradiation intensity and solids concentration on sludge characterisation parameters were monitored ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Cinnamaldehyde enhances in vitro parameters of immunity and reduces in vivo infection against avian coccidiosis [PDF]
The effects of cinnamaldehyde (CINN) on in vitro parameters of immunity and in vivo protection against avian coccidiosis were evaluated. In vitro stimulation of chicken spleen lymphocytes with CINN (25-400ng/ml) induced greater cell proliferation ...

Isolation of structurally distinct lignin–carbohydrate fractions from maize stem by sequential alkaline extractions and endoglucanase treatment [PDF]
Sequential fractionation of extractive-free maize stems was carried out using two mild alkaline extractions (0.5 and 2 M NaOH, 20 'C, 24 h) before and after endoglucanase treatment.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

The effects of different levels of biogen probiotic additives on growth indices and body composition of juvenile common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) [PDF]
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of biogen probiotic additives on growth performance of common carp, Cyprinus carpio. Four practical diets containing 0 (control) , 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 % Biogen probiotic were used to feed fish. Seventy-two

Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
