Safety and efficacy of Beltherm MP/ML (endo‐1,4‐beta‐xylanase) as a feed additive for piglets, pigs for fattening and other porcine species

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2019
Beltherm MP/ML contains endo‐1,4‐beta‐xylanase and it is to be used as a zootechnical additive for weaned piglets, pigs for fattening and minor porcine species for fattening. The safety and efficacy of the additive when used for poultry species have been

Safety and efficacy of Axtra® PHY 20000 TPT2 (6‐phytase) as a feed additive for poultry and porcine species

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2016
Axtra® PHY 20000 TPT2 is a solid preparation that contains a 6‐phytase produced with a genetically modified strain of Trichoderma reesei. The production strain and its recombinant DNA were not detected in Axtra® PHY 20000 TPT2.

Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of Rovabio® Excel (endo-1,3(4)-beta-glucanase and endo-1,4-beta-xylanase) as a feed additive for lactating sows [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2014
Rovabio® Excel is a preparation of endo-1,3(4)-beta-glucanase and endo-1,4-beta-xylanase that is intended to be used as a feed additive for lactating sows, at a dose of 1 500 glucanase U and 1 100 xylanase U/kg feed, in order to minimise the mobilisation

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Safety and efficacy of the feed additive consisting of 6‐phytase (produced by Komagataella phaffii CGMCC 7.19) (Nutrase P) for chickens for fattening, other poultry for fattening or reared for laying and ornamental birds (Nutrex N.V.)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2022
Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of 6‐phytase produced by a genetically modified strain of Komagataella phaffii (CGMCC 7.19) (Nutrase P) for chickens for fattening,

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.
