EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of AveMix® XG 10 (endo-1,4- beta-xylanase and endo-1,3(4)-beta-glucanase) as feed additive for weaned piglets

open access: yes, 2011
The additive AveMix® XG 10 is an enzyme preparation of endo-1,4-beta-xylanase and endo-1,3(4)-betaglucanase, produced by two strains of Trichoderma reesei. This product is currently authorised for use in chickens for fattening as a zootechnical additive,

Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of Optiphos® (6‐phytase) as a feed additive for chickens and turkeys for fattening, chickens reared for laying, turkeys reared for breeding, laying hens, other birds for fattening and laying, weaned piglets, pigs for fattening and sows

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2011
The additive Optiphos® is a preparation of 6–phytase produced by a genetically modified strain of Pichia pastoris; it is presented in solid (G/CT) and liquid (L) forms ensuring 4000 OTU/g and 8000 OTU/mL, respectively. This product is intended for use in

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Assessment of the application for renewal of authorisation of PHYZYME® XP 5000 G/L (6‐phytase) for chickens for fattening, laying hens, turkeys for fattening, ducks for fattening, weaned piglets, pigs for fattening and sows for reproduction

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2019
PHYZYME® XP 5000 G/L is a feed additive that contains 6‐phytase produced by a genetically modified strain of Schizosaccharomyces pombe. The applicant requested for the renewal of the authorisation for PHYZYME® XP 5000 G and L to be used as a feed ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
