ADP‐ribosylation: An emerging regulator of the epigenome

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ADP‐ribosylation has emerged as a dynamic epigenetic signaling mechanism that modifies histones and chromatin‐associated proteins. Through coordinated PARylation and MARylation, it integrates with other histone modifications to regulate chromatin structure, transcription factor activity, and gene expression, influencing genome function and disease ...

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Comparison of digestive enzyme activity in the stomach, pyloric caeca and intestine in diploid and triploid female of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

open access: yes‬‭Majallah-i ̒Ilmī-i Shīlāt-i Īrān, 2007
The effects of chromosome manipulation on the digestive enzyme activity in the rainbow trout were studied. The enzymes included Pepsin, Trypsin, Chymotrypsin, cileimylase, Lipase and Alkaline Phosphatase which were assessed in diploid and triploid female

NAPRT loss promotes lung tumor initiation and growth through AKT signaling independently of NAD+ biosynthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of NAPRT promotes lung tumor initiation and growth through a noncanonical mechanism, independent of its role in NAD+ biosynthesis. Mechanistically, NAPRT depletion activates the mTORC2‐driven AKT/β‐catenin signaling axis to enhance clonogenic and invasive phenotypes. Furthermore, lung‐specific Naprt deletion significantly increases tumor burden in

Characterization of digestive α-amylase in the midgut of willow leaf beetle Plagiodera versicolora (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2014
Willow leaf beetle, Plagiodera versicolora is an important pest of willow trees that feeds on the leaves both as larvae and as adults. -Amylases (EC 3.2.1.1) are the major insect digestive enzymes that catalyze the endohydrolysis of long -1,4-glucan ...

Decoupling enzyme catalysis from thermal denaturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The equilibrium model (EM) (Daniel et al., 2001) postulates two forms of a folded enzyme, one catalytically active (Eact) and the other inactive (Einact), which interconvert via a fast thermal equilibrium (Keq) (Figure A). This model for enzyme catalysis

p190A/ARHGAP35 and p190B/ARHGAP5 proteins in endometrial cancer: a novel cancer‐relevant paralog interplay

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies ARHGAP5, in addition to the frequently mutated ARHGAP35, as significantly mutated in endometrial cancer. Mutations in both genes co‐occur and are associated with their correlated downregulation. Functional CRISPR studies show that both paralogs regulate similar pathways, including actin cytoskeleton organization.

Enhancing Multi-Enzyme Cascade Activity in Metal-Organic Frameworks via Controlled Enzyme Encapsulation [PDF]

open access: yes
To position multi‐enzymes in a core‐shell structure, the conventional layer‐by‐layer approach is often used. However, this method is time‐consuming and complex, requiring multiple steps and the isolation of intermediates at each stage.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Characterization of digestive enzymes from captive Brazilian flounder Paralichthys orbignyanus

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2017
Knowledge of specific enzyme activity, along with animal habits and digestive capacity is essential in formulating an appropriate diet for any species. In this study, we evaluated and characterized the activity of digestive enzymes present in the liver ...
