Neoadjuvant Therapy for Resectable and Borderline Resectable Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Translational Medicine
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most lethal cancers, with poor survival even after surgical resection. Clinical stages include resectable (R-PDAC), borderline resectable (BR-PDAC), locally advanced, and metastatic disease ...

Procoagulant Disorders in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMedicina, 2020
Background and objectives: Cancer coagulopathy is thought to be partially due to the up-regulation of tissue factor (TF), thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT) and soluble P-selectin (sP-selectin).

PirABVP Toxin Binds to Epithelial Cells of the Digestive Tract and Produce Pathognomonic AHPND Lesions in Germ-Free Brine Shrimp

open access: yesToxins, 2019
Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND), a newly emergent farmed penaeid shrimp bacterial disease originally known as early mortality syndrome (EMS), is causing havoc in the shrimp industry. The causative agent of AHPND was found to be a specific

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Clinical Outcomes of Patients with Colorectal Cancer Who Underwent Comprehensive Genomic Profiling: A Single-institution Non-comparative Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesJournal of the Anus, Rectum and Colon
Objectives: Although some studies have evaluated the effectiveness of comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) in solid tumors, the effectiveness of CGP in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) has not been evaluated using detailed real-world long-outcome ...
