Individual Tree Crown Delineation in Heterogeneous Urban Environments Using High-Resolution Airborne Imagery

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Urban trees are crucial to mitigate the increasing urban temperatures caused by climate change. Tree inventories, which are useful for urban planning and tree management, are mostly based on expensive and incomplete in situ measurements. Freely available

Facial aging simulation via tensor completion and metric learning

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2017
Facial aging simulation is one of the most challenging issues in automatic machine based face analysis, where the most essential requirements are (i) human identity should remain stable in texture synthesis and (ii) the texture synthesised is expected to

Graph Spectral Image Processing

open access: yes, 2018
Recent advent of graph signal processing (GSP) has spurred intensive studies of signals that live naturally on irregular data kernels described by graphs (e.g., social networks, wireless sensor networks).

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Why Questions on Time-Aware Spatial Keyword Queries in Traffic Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Time-aware spatial keyword queries in traffic networks ( $TSKQT$ ) aim to retrieve top- $k$ result objects based on the ranking score considering spatial proximity, textual relevance, and temporal similarity simultaneously. However, due to inappropriate

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Non-Rigid Cycle Consistent Bidirectional Network with Transformer for Unsupervised Deformable Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Registration

open access: yesBrain Sciences
Background: In neuroscience research about functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), accurate inter-subject image registration is the basis for effective statistical analysis. Traditional fMRI registration methods are usually based on high-resolution
