Evaluation of Footprint Horizontal Geolocation Accuracy of Spaceborne Full-Waveform LiDAR Based on Digital Surface Model

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
Spaceborne full-waveform LiDAR has shown unique advantages in measuring global surface elevation. Laser footprints generally have decimeter-level vertical accuracy, meeting the requirement of ground elevation control points.

Vertical accuracy assessment of open access digital elevation models: Bucaramanga-Colombia case study

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2022
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), are fundamental data that allow to represent topographic information continuously. They are widely used in various applications such as geoscience, and in the graphical representation of the landscape surface ...

Late or Earlier Information Fusion From Depth and Spectral Data? Large-Scale Digital Surface Model Refinement by Hybrid-CGAN [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2019
We present the workflow of a digital surface model (DSM) refinement methodology using a Hybrid-cGAN where the generative part consists of two encoders and a common decoder which blends the spectral and height information within one network. The inputs to

The Creation of Space Vector Models of Buildings From RPAS Photogrammetry Data

open access: yesSlovak Journal of Civil Engineering, 2017
The results of Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) photogrammetry are digital surface models and orthophotos. The main problem of the digital surface models obtained is that buildings are not perpendicular and the shape of roofs is deformed.

Improving Intertidal Reef Mapping Using UAV Surface, Red Edge, and Near-Infrared Data

open access: yesDrones, 2019
Coastal living reefs provide considerable services from tropical to temperate systems. Threatened by global ocean-climate and local anthropogenic changes, reefs require spatially explicit management at the submeter scale, where socioecological processes ...

Digital Surface Model Super-Resolution by Integrating High-Resolution Remote Sensing Imagery Using Generative Adversarial Networks

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Digital surface model (DSM) is the fundamental data in various geoscience applications, such as city 3-D modeling and urban environment analysis. The freely available DSM often suffers from limited spatial resolution. Super-resolution (SR) is a promising

Development of a digital surface model and a digital terrain model based on ERS data

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract The paper considers the development methods of a digital surface model and a digital terrain model of the Dead City territory. The work utilizes the Phantom 4 PRO UAV with high flight stability and excellent shooting quality (camera 20Mg/px) with 4K resolution that allows creating qualitative DSM, DTM with a possibility of ...

Spatially Regularized Fusion of Multiresolution Digital Surface Models [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2017
In this paper, we propose an algorithm for robustly fusing digital surface models (DSMs) with different ground sampling distances and confidences, using explicit surface priors to obtain locally smooth surface models. Robust fusion of the DSMs is achieved by minimizing the L1-distance of each pixel of the solution to each input DSM.
