Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

DIGITAL MODELING OF EARTH'S SURFACE RELIEF

open access: yesContemporary Theory and Practice in Construction, 2017
This paper presents the theoretical basis for the development of the Earth's surface relief digital models. The sources and structure of the modeling data, as well as the methods of their processing, are described, depending on the spatial-temporal properties of the Earth's surface.

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

Automatic Identification of Shrub-Encroached Grassland in the Mongolian Plateau Based on UAS Remote Sensing

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Recently, the increasing shrub-encroached grassland in the Mongolian Plateau partly indicates grassland quality decline and degradation. Accurate shrub identification and regional difference analysis in shrub-encroached grassland are significant for ...

Surface roughness effects on runoff and soil erosion rates under simulated rainfall [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Soil surface roughness is identified as one of the controlling factors governing runoff and soil loss. Yet, most studies pay little attention to soil surface roughness.

Spinal Cord Infarction Versus Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis: Clinical, Radiological, and Functional Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

Generating the open space 3D model based on LiDAR data

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2012
An open space could be defined as a space, which is restricted by a surface, that is generated over the physical Earth‘s surface, natural and artificial objects, and in which the distances between its objects are less than given critical tolerance.

Repairing triangle meshes built from scanned point cloud [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The Reverse Engineering process consists of a succession of operations that aim at creating a digital representation of a physical model. The reconstructed geometric model is often a triangle mesh built from a point cloud acquired with a scanner ...

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles
