Slip Localization Intensification Mediated by Grain Boundary Sliding in a Polycrystalline Nickel‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Mine Gas Accident Safety Management Based on Digital Twin

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2020
In order to solve the shortcomings of traditional coal mine safety management, digital twin (DT) is introduced into coal mine safety management. On the basis of the existing digital twin model research, the five-dimensional model framework is selected as

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Digital Twin (DT) based methodology to support effective design of industrial production lines

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2023
The paper proposes a digital twin (DT) based methodology to support effective design of industrial production lines. In particular the authors define the design guidelines of an industrial production line by using an approach based on multiple performance measures, Design of Experiments (DOE) and multiple performance measures.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Building a Digital Twin – Features for Veneer Production Lines – Observations on the Discrepancies between Theory and Practice [PDF]

open access: yes
The utilization of digital twin (DT) in large-scale industrial applications has been extensively discussed in academic literature. However, only a few publications provide real-life case descriptions on building a digital twin model from scratch.

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance
