Roxithromycin‐induced digoxin toxicity
Medical Journal of Australia, 1996A 76-year-old women presented with digoxin toxicity four days after starting a course of roxithromycin. In 10%-15% of the population, digoxin is degraded extensively by bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, and antibiotic-induced changes in the bacterial flora may lead to digoxin toxicity.

Erythromycin-Induced Digoxin Toxicity
DICP, 1989The potential interaction between certain antibiotics and digoxin has been discussed in the literature; however, few cases of actual erythromycin-induced digoxin toxicity have been reported. We present a case in which an 86-year-old woman who was taking digoxin 0.25 mg/d developed probable digoxin toxicity after the administration of erythromycin for ...

Omeprazole-associated Digoxin Toxicity
Southern Medical Journal, 2007Omeprazole is a commonly prescribed inhibitor of the gastric proton pump and has numerous indications in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. It is primarily metabolized through the CYP2C19 enzyme, a member of the P450 mixed-function oxidase group, although a minor pathway of metabolism is through CYP3A4, another P450 enzyme.

Alprazolam-related digoxin toxicity
American Journal of Psychiatry, 1984An elderly woman developed a high serum digoxin concentration resulting in toxicity when alprazolam was added to her digoxin therapy. The reduced renal clearance of digoxin is postulated as the mechanism for this interaction.

Economic Impact of Digoxin Toxicity
PharmacoEconomics, 1997The costs of digoxin toxicity to the US healthcare system have not been previously reported. Therefore, the 1994 database of US University Health-System Consortium (UHC) was searched for cases of digoxin toxicity using the International Classification of Diseases (9th edition) [ICD-9] codes.

Hemofiltration for Digoxin Toxicity
Archives of Internal Medicine, 1986To the Editor. —Regarding the article by Lai et al on "Hemofiltration in Digoxin Overdose" that appeared in the June issue of theArchives, 1 I should like to point out that only about 15% to 20% (0.15 to 0.25) of digoxin is protein bound, contrary to the figure quoted by the authors.

inda Hendricks, the nurse assigned to Mr. Bradley, a 75-year-old man with congestive heart failure and chronic renal insufficiency, was concerned. Mr. Bradley's CHF had seemed to be responding to digoxin and furosemide (Lasix). But now, on his fourth hospital day, this usually talkative and energetic man had become lethargic and withdrawn. He'd refused

Digoxin Toxicity in Patients with High Serum Digoxin Concentrations
The American Journal of the Medical Sciences, 1987A retrospective study of the clinical course and outcome of patients with serum digoxin concentrations (SDCs) greater than 3 ng/mL was conducted to determine the probability of a patient without initial signs or symptoms of digoxin toxicity subsequently developing signs or symptoms.
