Vegetable Oil‐Based Materials for Drug Delivery Systems and Wound Dressings

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 26, Issue 3, March 2026.
Renewable resources like vegetable oils are increasingly explored for biomaterial production in biomedical applications. Their monoglycerides and triglycerides inherently possess functions or can be chemically modified to introduce functional groups suitable for polymerization, yielding biomaterials with desirable properties such as flexibility ...

Role of nitric oxide on the electrophysiological properties of isolated rabbit atrioventricular node by extracellular field potential during atrial fibrillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to determine direct effects of NO modulation on protective electrophysiological properties of atrioventricular node (AV node) in the experimental model of AF in rabbit.

Heart Failure: Epidemiology, Pathophysiology, and Management

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This article takes calcium homeostasis as the point of departure to provide an overview of heart failure from three perspectives—epidemiology, pathophysiological mechanisms, and management strategies—and summarizes the current unmet needs and future directions in the field. ABSTRACT Heart failure (HF) is one of the leading causes of hospitalization and

Differential efficacy of L- and T-type calcium channel blockers in preventing tachycardia-induced atrial remodeling in dogs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Tachycardia-induced remodeling likely plays an important role in atrial fibrillation (AF) maintenance and recurrence after cardioversion, and Ca2+ overload may be an important mediator.

Lityum, kalsiyum antagonistleri ve lipit peroksidasyon

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Psychopharmacology, 2021
The effect of lithium chloride and calcium antagonists (nifedipine and diltiazem) on brain lipid peroxide and glutathione levels were investigated in mice when they are administered separately or together. When nifedipine and diltiazem were administered

Effects of chlorthalidone and diltiazem on myocardial ischemia in elderly patients with hypertension and coronary artery disease

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2001
OBJETIVE: Antihypertensive therapy with thiazides decreases coronary events in elderly patients. However, the influence of diuretics on myocardial ischemia has not been fully investigated. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of chlorthalidone

Temporal Characteristics and Management of Prolonged Sinus Pause Following Atrial Fibrillation Termination After Catheter Ablation—A Preliminary Study

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 2, March 2026.
Twelve of the 1330 patients who underwent AF catheter ablation showed PSP ≥ 3 s after AF termination post ablation. The temporal characteristics of PSP were described. Nine of the 12 patients had no need for permanent pacing. We concluded that a ‘watch‐and‐wait’ strategy could be adopted in these patients.
