On the conformational behavior of dimethyl carbonate
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 1999Infrared (4000–50 cm-1) spectra of the vapor, the amorphous and crystalline solid phase, and Raman spectra (4000–50 cm-1) of the vapor, liquid and crystalline solid phases of dimethyl carbonate have been recorded, and assignments are proposed. MP2 and DFT abinitio calculations were carried out using a 6-31G** basis set.

Dialkyl and diaryl carbonates by carbonate interchange reaction with dimethyl carbonate
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1992Phenols, substituted phenols, and alcohols undergo carbonate interchange reaction with dimethyl carbonate in the presence of tin and titanium catalyets. Tin catalysts were found to be superior for both phenols and alcohols, In the case of substituted phenols, conversion and selectivity to diaryl carbonate was higher when the substitutent was located ...

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2015
Abstract Phase diagrams of lithium salt systems in dimethyl sulfoxide, propylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate have been obtained and conductivity measurements have been performed in the concentration range up to 0.25 mole fraction of a salt. The shape of the phase diagrams has been analyzed thermodynamically and the following order of anions for ...

Abstract Raman study of cation and anion solvation in dimethyl sulfoxide, propylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate solutions of six lithium salts has been performed in the concentration range from 0.05 to 0.25 molar fraction of a salt. The dependences of the amount of the solvent particles involved in dimerization, hydrogen bonding, and solvation ...

Potentiation of Carbon Tetrachloride Toxicity by Dimethyl Sulphoxide
Nature, 1967DIMETHYL sulphoxide (DMSO) has received considerable attention because of its remarkable biological properties1,2, It passes rapidly through many animal membranes, enhances absorption of a wide variety of substances and is also a versatile solvent with little systemic toxicity when given to animals3–5.
