Vertical migration of some herbicides through undisturbed and homogenized soil columns

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2009
A laboratory experiment was conducted by using three herbicides, two from dinitroaniline group and one from thiocarbamate group to know their degree of downward movement (leachability) through soil columns and their contribution in ground water ...

Production of Biodiesel from Crude Pittosporum resiniferum Oil Using Heterogeneous Solid Base Catalyst

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 5, Issue 11, November 2024.
Pittosporum resiniferum oil and methanol is used for biodiesel production using a novel solid base catalyst. The catalyst is prepared under optimal conditions such as; 16:1 methanol‐to‐oil ratio, 5% catalyst loading, 2.0 h reaction time, and 60°C reaction temperature.

The contribution of mRNA targeting to spatial protein localization in bacteria

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 291, Issue 21, Page 4639-4659, November 2024.
mRNA‐based targeting serves as a back‐up strategy for the canonical signal sequence‐based protein targeting in bacteria. While signal sequence‐based targeting depends on dedicated protein‐targeting factors, mRNAs encoding inner membrane proteins can bind directly to protein translocases.

Dodder control in alfalfa

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1989
Extended dodder control was achieved with pre-emergence applications of dinitroaniline herbicides, in either a single 4-pound application or a split application of 2 + 2 pounds. Of the herbicides studied, prodiamine was the most persistent.

Developmental and neural toxicity of the dinitroaniline herbicide pendimethalin in zebrafish early-life stages

open access: yesEmerging Contaminants
Pendimethalin (PND) belongs to the dinitroaniline family of herbicides and is commonly used to control broadleaf weeds, but its persistence in the environment and potential toxicity have become a growing concern.

Cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of a pendimethalin-based herbicide in Apis mellifera

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Public concern about the effects of pesticides on non-target organisms has increased in the recent years. Nevertheless, there is a limited number of studies that address the actual toxic effects of herbicides on insects.

Trifluralin Toxicology Revisited: Microtubule Inhibition, Mitochondrial Damage, and Anti-Protozoan Potential

open access: yesFuture Pharmacology
The aim of this review is to evaluate the therapeutic possibilities of trifluralin and other 2,6-dinitroaniline herbicides by assessing different aspects of trifluralin’s toxicology (including its mitochondrial toxicity), pharmacokinetics, and ...
