A Versatile Materials Class for Solution‐Processed Optics and Photonics Based On Titanium Oxide Hydrates and Polyalcohols: A Perspective

Small‐Molecule Sarco/Endoplasmic Reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase Activators Reverse Methylglyoxal‐Induced Inhibition through Nonantioxidant Mechanisms

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) Ca2+ dysregulation drives β‐cell dysfunction under diabetic stressors like methylglyoxal, which inhibits the sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase (SERCA) pump through oxidative modifications. We show that synthetic SERCA activators restore pump activity after methylglyoxal‐induced damage.

Allylation of C(sp3)─H Bonds Using a MW/Persulfate Protocol

The C(sp3)─H allylation using allyl phenyl sulfone was affected by persulfate anion (PS) under microwave (MW) irradiation. The MW/PS protocol proved applicable to a wide range of C(sp3)–H bonds in ethers, alkanes, aldehydes, and ketones, affording the corresponding C(sp3)–H allylated products.

Cooperative Photocatalysis of 9,10‐Phenanthrenequinone and Sn(OTf)2 for Direct Mannich Reaction of Ethers via Hydrogen Atom Transfer Pathway

A dual photocatalytic system of o‐PQ and Sn(OTf)2 enables visible light‐induced Mannich‐type addition of ethers to nitrones via Csp³–H activation. This oxidant‐free method offers broad scope and good yields. Direct Carboboration of Aryl Alkenes with Stable Organoborons Through Ziegler‐Type Addition

The direct carboboration of vinyl arenes with benzylic boronates has been achieved using KOtBu as the catalyst. Vinylcyclopropanes and vinylcyclobutane also participate in this reaction, yielding the corresponding 1,5‐ and 1,6‐carboboration products.

Boosting the Charge Output of Enclosed Liquid‐Based Nanogenerators by Electrowetting‐Assisted Charge Injection Approach
