Selective Opioid Dipeptides

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1994
The surprising change of selectivity induced by the change of chirality in peptides containing the tetrahydro-3-isoquinoline carboxylic acid (Tic) in second position, interpreted as a conformational preference induced on the Tyr-Xaa-Phe domain, can instead be attributed to the Tyr-Tic message domain.

Electrochemical detection of dipeptides and dipeptide amides

Journal of Chromatography A, 1990
A postcolumn reagent is used to create electroactive species from non-electroactive peptides. The reagent, based on the classical biuret reagent, consists of Cu(II), tartrate, bicarbonate and base. The detection is by dual electrode electrochemical detection. N-Acetylated dipeptides are oxidized at pH 12 and low potential.

Taste of dipeptides

Physiology & Behavior, 1976
Abstract Forty-six commercially available dipeptides, reagent grade, along with 3 L-amino acids were rated on 52 sematic differential scales. A verbal description, as well as a multidimensional representation of the tastes, was obtained. Although many dipeptides have a bitter component, other characteristics were found as well.

Dipeptides as Microporous Materials

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2004
The synthesis and characterization of hydrophobic porous frameworks designed for a variety of applications has attracted significant research efforts over the last few years. The key idea in such studies is to design building elements which allow for controllable assembly and disassembly, and which may be extensively replaced and modified to give ...

Bioactive cyclic dipeptides

Peptides, 1995
Cyclic dipeptides are among the simplest peptide derivatives commonly found in nature. Most cyclic dipeptides found to date appear to have emerged as by-products of fermentation and food processing. However, many are endogenous to members of animal and plant kingdoms; these include cyclo(Pro-Leu), cyclo(Pro-Val), cyclo(Pro-Phe), cyclo(Ala-Leu), cyclo ...

A silaproline-containing dipeptide

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2000
The silaproline-containing dipeptide N-(3, 3-dimethyl-1-pivaloyl-1-aza-3-sila-5-cyclopentylcarbonyl)-L- alanine isopropylamide, C(17)H(33)N(3)O(3)Si, has two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit and each adopts a beta-II folded conformation, where the amide on the terminal C interacts intramolecularly with the pivaloyl O atom. The five-membered
