Diabetes mellitus is a chronic illness that needs persistent medical attention and continuous patient self-management to avoid acute complications. Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) inhibitors minimize glucagon and blood glucose levels by increasing the ...

Substrate specificity and structural investigation into PepO and PepW : two peptidases from Lactobacillus rhamnosus : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Biochemistry at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]
The proteolytic systems of lactic acid bacteria have important roles in the maturation and flavour development of cheese. Lactic acid bacteria pepetidases contribute to the taste of cheese through the production of low-molecular weight peptides and free ...

Abstract Introduction Active surveillance of adverse events using healthcare data is emerging as complementary to the monitoring of spontaneous reports and stand‐alone pharmacoepidemiologic studies. The risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) was listed as a special warning for sodium‐glucose cotransporter‐2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) when marketed in Europe

The dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors vildagliptin and K-579 inhibit a phospholipase C: a case of promiscuous scaffolds in proteins. [PDF]
The long term side effects of any newly introduced drug is a subject of intense research, and often raging controversies. One such example is the dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP4) inhibitor used for treating type 2 diabetes, which is inconclusively ...

SpyCatcher‐mi3 nanoparticles displaying RBD‐SD1 from MERS‐CoV, NL140422, and HKU4 elicited robust and cross‐reactive IgG responses in mice. Only MERS‐CoV RBD‐SD1 induced neutralizing antibodies against MERS‐CoV and protected human DPP4 mice from a MERS‐CoV challenge, indicating conserved serologic but limited cross‐neutralizing epitopes.

The dipeptidylpeptidase-IV inhibitors sitagliptin, vildagliptin and saxagliptin do not impair innate and adaptive immune responses [PDF]
Inhibitors of dipeptidylpeptidase IV (DPP-IV) represent a novel class of frequently used anti-diabetic drugs. In addition to its function in metabolic regulation, DPP-IV also plays a role in the immune system.

Synthetic Strategies for Activity‐Based Probes to Decode Ubiquitin‐Like Modifiers
ABSTRACT Ubiquitin‐like proteins (Ubls) such as SUMO, NEDD8, ISG15, URM1, UFM1, FAT10, ATG8/ATG12, and FUBI are essential regulators of cellular homeostasis, controlling processes from protein stability and trafficking to immune signaling and autophagy.

Efficacy of Body Weight Reduction on the SGLT2 Inhibitor in People with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Background : Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor, reduces hyperglycemia and body weight by inhibiting renal glucose reabsorption. However, only a few studies have demonstrated efficacy of dapagliflozin for type 2 diabetic patients ...
