A visible-light-induced, metal-free bis-arylation of 2,5-dichlorobenzoquinone

A metal-free protocol for the direct bis-arylation of 2,5-dichlorobenzoquinone with aryldiazonium salts is reported. The reactive salts are generated in situ and converted to radicals through irradiation with visible light.

A mild, efficient and catalytic ligand-free method for the direct arylation of 5-pyrazolones by Pd-catalyzed C–H bond activation is reported. The process smoothly proceeds and yields are moderate to excellent.
