Direct compression properties of melt-extruded isomalt
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2002Isomalt, a sugar alcohol, was melt-extruded prior to compression in order to improve its tabletting properties. After fusion, crystalline isomalt was transformed into an amorphous form as shown by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The tabletting properties of amorphous isomalt were dramatically improved. Mixtures formulated

Image data compression with three-directional splines
SPIE Proceedings, 2000In this paper we consider a new method for image data compression. It is based on three-directional spline functions of low degree, viz. Piecewise constant functions, and piecewise cubic C-1-functions. In the first case, a Haar wavelet type decomposition can be derived, and combined with standard thresholding techniques.

Direct compression properties of chitin and chitosan
European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, 2008Deformation and compaction properties of native amino poly-saccharides chitin and chitosan were studied and compared with those obtained with established pharmaceutical direct compression excipients. An instrumented single-punch tablet machine was used for tablet compaction.

[Direct compression nitrazepam tablets].
Die Pharmazie, 1989Tablets of nitrazepam were made by direct compression. The influence of different dry binders and other adjuvants on the physical parameters of the tablets and their texture (scanning electron microscope: SEM) were examined. Changes in the physical parameter can be explanded if the texture is known.

Hemodynamically Directed Two-Person Chest Compressions
A & A Case Reports, 2017Cardiopulmonary resuscitation has a low success rate both in and out of the hospital setting. Return of spontaneous circulation, however, is considerably higher for intraoperative cardiac arrests. Chest compressions remain of utmost importance. Optimal chest compression depth is believed to be greater than 5 cm.

Comparative Evaluation of Several Direct Compression Sugars
Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1983AbstractThree new and two commercially available sugar matrices were comparatively evaluated for several fundamental properties of direct compression powder systems. These properties included: particle size distribution, powder flow (determined by a recording powder flow meter), bulk density and moisture content. The matrices studied were Dipac, Nutab,

Rheology and compression characteristics of lactose based direct compression excipients
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 1993Abstract This article compares the rheological and the fundamental direct compression properties of five lactose-based excipients for direct compression. The sequence observed, in decreasing order, of flow characteristics was: Ludipress ® , Cellactose ® , Tablettose ® , Fast-Flo Lactose and anhydrous lactose. Granulometry of Ludipress ® , Cellactose ®

Direct feature detection on compressed images
Pattern Recognition Letters, 2005We present a general approach to the development of adaptive image processing operators of variable shape and size that can be applied directly to non-uniformly sampled images. The approach is demonstrated for second order derivative operators using content-based compressed images.

Direct pattern matching on compressed text
Proceedings. String Processing and Information Retrieval: A South American Symposium (Cat. No.98EX207), 2002We present a fast compression and decompression technique for natural language texts. The novelty is that the exact search can be done on the compressed text directly, using any known sequential pattern matching algorithm. Approximate search can also be done efficiently without any decoding. The compression scheme uses a semi static word based modeling
