Iterative learning control based direct instantaneous torque control of switched reluctance motors

2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004
In this paper, iterative learning control (ILC) based direct instantaneous torque controller (DITC) for SRM is proposed. Direct torque control avoids the conversion of demanded motor torque into equivalent phase current references; which is non-trivial due to the coupled and non-linear torque, current and rotor position relationship.

Direct instantaneous torque control combined with torque sharing function strategy for switched reluctance drive

2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing, 2012
The inherent highly nonlinearity of switched reluctance motor not only makes it difficult to eliminate torque ripple with conventional average torque control techniques, but also restricts its application in the high-performance servo systems. A novel control strategy combing direct instantaneous torque control with the torque sharing function control ...

Predictive PWM-based direct instantaneous torque control of switched reluctance drives

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
A method of direct instantaneous torque control for switched reluctance motor drives using pulse width modulation based on flux linkage prediction is presented in this paper. The torque characteristic of the machine allows a prediction of reference flux linkage for the next sampling time-step.

Direct Instantaneous Torque Control of Switched Reluctance Motor for Aerospace Applications

2018 53rd International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2018
This paper presents a new Direct Instantaneous Torque Control (DITC) developed to minimize the inherent torque ripple of an aerospace switched reluctance motor (SRM). In addition to good performance, the reliability and robustness of the overall system are of great concern in aerospace and other safety-critical applications.

Simulation of the Direct Instantaneous Torque Control of SRM using MATLAB

International Conference on Automatic Control and Artificial Intelligence (ACAI 2012), 2012
Direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) method of the switched reluctance motor (SRM) is studied in this paper. Modeling and simulations of the DITC system have been conducted with MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results accurately reflect the actual operation states of SRM. It is verified that DITC method can effectively reduce the torque ripple of

A high efficiency direct instantaneous torque control of SRM using commutation angles control

2014 17th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2014
This paper investigates the problem of angle optimization in direct instantaneous torque controlled (DITC) switched reluctance motor (SRM). The torque to ampere ratio (T/A) enlargement of the motor is studied through adjustment of switching angles in order to improve the efficiency of the motor.

Direct Instantaneous Torque Control of Switched Reluctance Motor Using Adaptive Excitation Angle

2020 15th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2020
A novel control strategy is proposed to improve the performance of switched reluctance motor (SRM) in this paper. This control scheme is a combination of proposed strategies including direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) and excitation angle control. Due to the proposed torque control strategy, the torque ripple problem of SRM is transformed into

Direct instantaneous torque control of switched reluctance motor based on adaptive backstepping

2014 17th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2014
Direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) is an efficient techinique of supressing torque ripple of switched reluctance motor (SRM). However, the performances of the conventional DITC with hysteresis torque control will be degraded due to limited sampling frequency in digital implementation.

Direct instantaneous torque control of a four-phase switched reluctance motor

2009 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems (PEDS), 2009
The paper presents an investigation on the direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) of a 1-hp four-phase 8/6 switched reluctance motor (SRM). In the proposed technique, the instantaneous phase torque was estimated in real-time using a pre-stored look-up table of measured static torque, T(i, λ), where phase current and phase flux linkage were input ...
