Fuzzy logic direct torque control

ISIE'2000. Proceedings of the 2000 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (Cat. No.00TH8543), 2002
A brief review of the different induction motor drives is done and its reason of being such a high matter of interest is summarised. Next, the direct torque control (DTC) in induction motors with its fundamental principles and schemes is described. Once the DTC is described, its main drawbacks are introduced.

Microcontroller implementation of direct torque control

International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, 2004
AbstractThe switching frequency of a conventional direct torque control (DTC) strategy which is based on hysteresis controllers results in a variable switching frequency which depends on the mechanical speed, stator flux, stator voltage, and the hysteresis band of the comparator.

A Hybrid Direct Torque Control Scheme for Dual Three-Phase PMSM Drives With Improved Operation Performance

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2019
The direct torque control (DTC) is widely used in motion control of electric drives, especially for the switching table based direct torque control (ST-DTC) and the space vector modulation (SVM) based DTC (SVM-DTC).

Direct Torque Control of PMSM with Torque Ripple Reduction Based on Fuzzy Logic Control

2015
This paper is presented to examine and improve the performance of the torque ripple suppression for direct torque controlled permanent magnet synchronous motor by using fuzzy control method. On the basis of analyzing the torque ripple of the direct torque control in details, the fuzzy controllers are designed for two parts.

Direct torque control-frequency analysis

AMC'98 - Coimbra. 1998 5th International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control. Proceedings (Cat. No.98TH8354), 2002
A DTC controller is developed, its characteristics compared with other scalar and vector control techniques based controllers. DTC behaviour is identified with analysis of main problems: variability of the voltage waveform supplied to the motor without pattern and without constant frequency.

Constant frequency torque and flux controllers for direct torque control of induction machines

IEEE 34th Annual Conference on Power Electronics Specialist, 2003. PESC '03., 2004
This paper proposed a simple solution to the variable switching frequency and high torque ripple problems encountered in hysteresis-based DTC drives. The method replaces the hysteresis-based controllers with fixed switching controllers, which operate based on the comparison between the error signals and the triangular waveforms. Implementation of these

Wide-speed direct torque and flux control of torque-controlled IPMSM drives

2012 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2012
This paper proposes a voltage-limited finite-settling-step direct torque and flux control (FSS-DTFC) method with a constant switching frequency for torque-controlled interior permanent-magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs). The proposed control law dynamically scales voltage vectors on the hexagonal voltage boundary to ensure maximum torque capabilities ...

A new torque hysteresis control algorithm for direct torque control of an IM drive

2011 IEEE International Electric Machines & Drives Conference (IEMDC), 2011
A novel band adaptation algorithm for a three level torque hysteresis comparator for direct torque control (DTC) of an induction motor (IM) is presented in this paper. The hysteresis band adaptation algorithm is developed based on the slope of the estimated torque of the motor. Therefore, it does not need any extra sensor for the torque.

Direct Torque Control of BLDC Drives With Reduced Torque Pulsations

2019 3rd International conference on Electronics, Communication and Aerospace Technology (ICECA), 2019
This paper illustrates the direct torque control strategy for a non-salient pole brushless DC motor (BLDC) having non-sinusoidal back emf (EMF). In the literature, a few strategies have been put forth for BLDC motor drives to acquire ideal current as well as torque control with minimal torque ripple.
